Mahariel had promised not to try and hunt down Morrigan before she went through the Eluvian, but after finding out about Empress Celene's new advisor it would've been damn near impossible to keep her away. She hasn't had many people she'd truly call a friend since leaving her clan, and Morrigan was one of the best among them. She'd been there since the beginning, after all.
No interest in engaging the nobles in the Game tonight, however, she elects to sneak through the palace. Honestly it's been a while since she's been able to her less popular talents as a rogue, and it's kind of fun. Though she would highly recommend that Celene have her guards trained to be a little more aware of their surroundings if she'd like to continue not being assassinated.
Sadly, some people have yet to figure out exactly where in the castle Morrigan is, but she has no illusions as to Morrigan not knowing she's here. So Mahariel makes herself comfortable in the library, sitting down with a book as she waits for her old friend to make her appearance.]
I HOPE THIS IS GOOD FOR YOU i have no idea what i'm doing
[Terry doesn't really reach out to people. It's not that he doesn't care because he does. Too much, sometimes. He just never sees the point. Why even bother? He'd hurt them, they'd push him away.
Billy's the first person since his brother he feels like he has a responsibility to though. (Maybe it's the name.) It's what has Terry awkwardly fumbling around the idea of trying to make a friend with some guy he barely knows and has no real connection to outside of the fact that he's someone else who knows what it's like to have a power that could tear apart everything he cares about if it's not kept in check. Someone else who really understands how hard that is.
It's also why he feels compelled to turn up with coffee when he realises he's half an hour late to meet Billy at the station.]
Hey, sorry. I, uh. I got held picking up my laundry. [HERE HAVE A COFFEE and don't think about what an obvious lie that is.]
[it has been a long time. morrigan was trying to put that part of her life behind her like she had with so many other things, but this one was more difficult. where cutting ties had been easy, cutting ties with the warden had not.
adviser though she was, the game made her job be multifacted and she knows the moment mahariel is in the building. she's a better rogue than morrigan had any claim and but she doesn't try to give chase. it would be much more interesting to see what mahariel was up to, so long as it didn't put celene in danger.
once she's settled in the library, that's her cue, and she slips in, standing for a moment before announcing herself.]
[She puts her book aside, but she doesn't get up. (Or take her feet off the table. No respect, this one.) But there's a smile on Mahariel's face. Morrigan doesn't look like she's having the worst time in the world here, at least.]
[its cool youve seen the place she grew up in its not like she cares about the stupid too expensive furniture.]
Does great "Hero of Fereldan" not have better things to do than make house visits? [that's morrigan-speak for i missed u too] Surely [fill in the blank with your romance choice] is missing you greatly.
[its not like there's "my power could literally ruin the world" anonymous, but whatever parts of the universe decided to push them together, he's grateful for. in truth, it probably had something to do with the avengers once they got through dealing with whatever nonsense of the week they were up to, and finally remembered they had teenage-like people to take care of and try and help along. but no one had mentioned to either of them how it all went on behind the scenes, just, one day. bam.
it's good, though, really good, actually. as much as he loved teddy (which was more than any person could imagine), teddy wasn't exactly a lot of help in these matters. added to that that their biggest fight was whether or not billy's powers had made up teddy....
needless to say, he needed someone else to chat with. so this friendship (not a word terry would probably use) was started.]
It's okay! [he...actually believes him and accepts the coffee. he's just been here playing frozen free fall on his phone anyway don't mind him] How've you been?
Alistair's busy with the Deep Roads. And he took the dog with him.
[said as though she takes great offence at it, but honestly sometimes not having Barkspawn chasing recruits around the keep is a welcome change.] I've been left with a rare gap in my schefule. And between the nobles of Orlais and the nobles of Amaranthine, at least I don't have to see their faces here.
Are you sure? [bc that is definitely a question.] I'm doing alright, I guess. Kate is due to come back from LA soon, thank god. I don't know what she sees in California.
There must be some appeal. [Gestures broadly, as if the answer's about to reveal itself.] People keep going out there to get their tans and shorts and... Drugs...
