[Mahariel tilts her head, looking at the way Anders is holding Se Pounce-a-lot. She's not sure she's seen anyone love anything as much as he loves that cat, and that makes her a little concerned. Both about whatever it is that's going on right now, and what the consequences of that might be.]

[Despite her worry, she smiles an easy smile at Anders. Hoping it'll put him a little at ease.]

I already think you're crazy, Anders. You don't need to worry.

[Anders laughs weakly but shakes his head. It's not himself he's worried about. Sure, the Commander might have him watched for the next foreseeable lifetime if his cat is truly harboring a demon, but losing Pounce would utterly crush him.]

Promise me you won't put him down.

[He waits for her promise before giving her a determined nod, stepping closer, and angling the cat toward her. The cat's pupils are blown as he looks from human to elf, but otherwise seems the same as usual.]

It's Pounce. He... I think he saved us all.

[She nods, though she's not entirely sure she can promise that. If the cat's possessed or something similar, getting a demon out of him may prove difficult.]

[She reaches out and brushes a hand over his head, peering curiously at the cat's eyes. But it's not like she can see into his soul or anything, and mostly Pounce just looks like a cat. A slightly confused cat, if anything. And if he's possessed, it certainly wouldn't make sense to save everyone, would it?]

[Lyna pulls a face. What to do, what to do.]

Are you sure it wasn't you?

[He is a healer, after all. It would make some kind of sense.]

I'd think I'd know if it was me.

[His tone is a bit sharp but this is Pounce's (and his!) reputation on the line. He won't have anybody insulting him or his cat, even if it is the Warden-Commander. He shields Pounce away from her, huddling him as if a treasure of his own though his face told a different story.]

It's a joke, of course.

[This time he sounds hurt, and his shielding away of his cat is proof enough. He tucks Pounce easily enough into his robes. Here Mahariel had been the only one he trusted, but now he felt ridiculous.]
