the world is ugly

[It's weird how... Normal things feel once stuff is actually running again. The way life just goes on. Not that Terry has any particular complaints about it, he's happier now than he ever thought was possible for him, it just strikes him sometimes how truly bizarre life is.]

[Like right now, arriving home after an interview and photoshoot to promote his first solo release, which is another thing that feels absolutely insane to him, but mostly what he feels right now is worn out. But they let him keep all the clothes and accessories from the shoot which was pretty cool, some of it is really awesome stuff.]

[So here he is, arriving, laden with bags of gifts. What a truly difficult life.]

Max? [He kicks closes the door behind himself and puts the bags down, getting on a knee while he's here to undo his boots and take them off.] You home?

[He smiles softly up at Terry.]

S'the only one that matters.

[traumatizing]

[Hm.] Well, the photographer's one matters sometimes too.

[notahobby]

Nah. 'S their job to make you look good, right? If you look like shit then they're bad at what they do.

[traumatizing]

[Terry shrugs a shoulder and rubs his thumb back and forth.]

I guess so.

[notahobby]

[Maxxie rubs his thumb back and forth on Terry's hip, gazing up at him with love.]

What's up?

[traumatizing]

Nothing.

[He shakes his head and looks at Maxxie's face, lifting a hand to brush some hair away from his eyes.]

I just find it funny you think I look so great when you walk around looking the way you do.

[notahobby]

[Maxxie's eyes draw together in a soft mixture of confusion and amusement.]

The way I do?

[traumatizing]

Yeah. [He messes with Maxxie's fringe a bit just to mess with him.] You're so handsome. Like, ridiculously good-looking.

[Terry's not even flirting he's just constantly dumbstruck by the fact that Maxxie's attracted to him.]

[Maxxie leans his head back a little and smooths out his hair. Pretty rude, Terry.]

There are more ways to be handsome than just the way I do it, Ter.

[traumatizing]

I know.

[It's not like he thinks he's ugly, he knows he's not, and he doesn't really wanna go there anyway. He just shrugs again and sighs.]

I dunno, maybe it's just because I spent all day thinking about how I look. Sometimes I think about it and it's like... "He picked me out of all the guys he could have? What? But he's so handsome and sweet and funny and caring."

[Wait no that's too much. Terry pauses and raises an eyebrow thoughtfully.]

Of course then it's like, "but who else is really gonna put up with him getting crumbs in the bed?"

[Maxxie laughs.]

No one, I suspect.

[He sobers up a little, but he gazes up at him with all the affection in the world.]

I love you, Ter. You're perfect to me.

[traumatizing]

[Ugh what a good boyfriend. Terry just gazes back at him for a moment before he leans down for a kiss, all soft and affectionate. He loves this man so much.]

[Maxxie meets him for it happily, moving his hand up to Terry's jaw.]

[traumatizing]

[Terry sighs softly into the kiss, pressing his forehead to Maxxie's after, eyes closed for the moment.]

Anyway, the point is this is nothing compared to some of the stuff I've worn.

[notahobby]

[Maxxie laughs.]

Can't wait to see what they send for you to approve.

[traumatizing]

Me too.

[He sits up straight again so he can finish his coffee and put the mug aside.]

I think they're gonna come out good.

[notahobby]

Course they will.

[He takes a sip from his coffee and then leans aside to put his mug down beside Terry's.]

And even if they don't, you got all this free stuff.

[traumatizing]

That's true.

[He hums and looks at Maxxie for a moment before he decides it's time to rearrange herself on Maxxie's lap, turning carefully so he can put his back to Maxxie's chest and lean against him, and reaches for one of his arms to pull it around himself with a sigh.]

[notahobby]

[Maxxie leans back and lets Terry turn around, happily obliging him and wrapping his arms around him tightly. Holding Terry is one of his favourite things to do, so this day is really working out for him.]

[traumatizing]

[Terry makes a very happy noise at being held tightly and leans back so he can rest his head on Maxxie's shoulder with a soft sigh. He puts a hand over one of Maxxie's and closes his eyes with a light smile.]

[He turns his head to press a kiss to Terry's temple and then relaxes back with a happy sigh. What a lovely boyfriend he has.]

[traumatizing]

[Terry makes a very pleased noise at the affection and settles back against Maxxie's chest, hands resting on his arms. He's so happy, he loves this man so much.]

Sometimes I wish we could just stay in bed like this forever.

[traumatizing]

[He nakes a soft noise to say he agrees and goes quiet for a moment of two before he pipes up with:] We'd get some pretty nasty bedsores though.

[Maxxie snorts.]

Honestly babe, that's pretty far down the list of reasons we can't.
