[Much as Kate never likes to flaunt her wealth — and boy do people love to remind her about it when it comes to grocery shopping — there are definite benefits. For instance: A home gym. Kate's never really felt comfortable going to gyms, something about training around all those strangers maybe? Who knows, she's never examined her feelings in any great detail.]

[She comes out after a little while — someone said to her once that you shouldn't really just take breaks during training, but Kate Bishop does what she wants — and looks around to find Eli. Draping herself over his shoulders when she finds him sitting (with little regard for the fact that she is mad sweaty right now) and lets out an exaggerated sigh.]

Hey. [She kisses him on the cheek too] Come spot me.

[Eli's doing something nerdy like reading or going over notes or something, and as much as he'd love to acknowledge Kate in all her greatness and beauty every time she walks into a room, she usually does a good job of making herself known. Like right now.]

[He smiles wryly when she kisses him, and then pulls his head away to give her a look.]

With that stink? I don't think so.

[She hugs her arms around his shoulders a little tighter, and it would be very sweet and affectionate if she wasn't clearly just getting all her sweat on him.]

Come get stinky with me.

[A true seductress.]

[Eli sighs. He does like working out with her; she's one of the few people who doesn't make a big deal every damn time he piles more weight on the bars and her energy really does push him. But right now?]

Come on, I'm busy.

[He sounds a little pleading, gesturing to the book in his lap.]

I'll read it to you if you help me work out?

[She kisses his cheek again, but she won't push any harder than that. If he really wants to stay here and do his nerd stuff he can, it just all goes a lot smoother when you've got someone who can literally pick you up with one arm to spot you. Plus he's the only other person she knows who's got that Team Leader Energy to help get her motivated. Amazingly it doesn't work on herself.]

[The thing that really changes his mind here is the thought of watching Kate walk back into that gym without him. He won't be able to focus on his studying after that. So he gives her a laborious sigh and shuts the book.]

If you insist.

[mchawkington]

[This time she kisses the top of Eli's head with some quiet (but genuine!!) thanks, and stands to head back with a grin on her face.]

I'll meet you in there.

[Eli grins in spite of himself, and he gets up to go get changed into something a little more appropriate for the gym. That only takes a few minutes, and then he goes to find Kate.]

So, what are we doing?

[Kate's doing some stretches when he comes in, getting herself warmed up again after coming out to harass Eli, and she exhales a long breath.]

Cardio, Endurance. [It's the stuff she tends to focus on most.] Wanna go a round with the punching bag too.

Ah, so this wasn't so much "come spot me" as it was "come keep me from getting bored during my boring cardio workout."

[He puts his hands on his hips and shakes his head, but he starts getting warmed up too. He may as well.]

[Kate laughs as she straightens up, stretching her arms up over her head]

Well it's what I was doing before. [God Eli] I could swap it out for some weights. We can take turns.

Nah. You said you wanted to go a round with the punching bag, right? I'll hold it for you.

[Honestly he likes watching her punch stuff.]

Anything you wanna do first?

[Because she's done after the punching bag. It's like the desert that puts you firmly in a food coma.]

[Eli raises an eyebrow at her, corner of his mouth twisting up into an almost mischievous smile.]

It's leg day.

[mchawkington]

[Kate opens her mouth for a moment, as if she's about to ask him why, but fine. She presses her lips together and nods. If Eli wants leg day he can have leg day.]

Alright. [She claps him on the shoulder.] Let's get you set up on the press.
