relationships are a tricky business

[Eames perhaps doesn't give things the amount of thought they deserve all the time. To one degree or another, he's always been at least a little impulsive, but his habit of looking at things in terms of what's practical instead of what they mean is an oversight that seems to be specific to dealing with Arthur.]

[Case in point: Arthur has a change of clothes at his place, because it only makes sense. If he's going to spend the night so regularly, he should have clean clothes to leave in the next day. The fact that Eames spent a good while rearranging his drawers when he got back to clear one out for Arthur is obviously only a logical continuation of that. Who really wants their only choice of clothing to be "whatever I wore when I was here last"? It doesn't mean anything except that Eames is wonderfully considerate and deserves a gift for his altruism.]

[Either way, it's done now and Eames is busying himself heating some leftover chilli for dinner. Arthur's supposed to be over at some point, but he has no idea when and he is a hungry man who missed lunch because of business reasons.]

[It's fine, he'll live with being slightly inconvenienced by Arthur's clothes. Getting Arthur's belt and pants undone is easier at least, and he slips his hand inside to palm Arthur over his underwear, ducking his head to kiss down Arthur's neck at the same time.]

[Arthur swears under his breath, balling his fist in Eames' hair and pulling his hand out of Eames' pants just so he can start undoing his belt. There are still way too many articles of clothing on them right now Arthur doesn't want Eames to move.]

[His gaze is almost more full of affection than it is lust and he licks his lips, glancing down at his hand for a moment and then back to Arthur's face.]

[Arthur loves hearing Eames' voice like this, so close and intimate and full of desire. It shoots another spark up his spine, so it takes a second for him to open his eyes and look back up at Eames, his expression almost challenging.]

[There's not a hint of teasing in his voice, he's completely serious.]

[Arthur never really thought about it before but he immediately knows he wants that. He's always been really into the idea of Eames taking charge and that brings it to a whole other level that Arthur knows he wants to experience.]

[There's a touch of humour to Arthur's tone but he's still very much affected by whatever Eames' hand is doing.]

[They can revisit the topic when Arthur isn't distracted by a hand on his dick, which isn't about to be any time soon. Luckily for all, his magic's practised enough that he can get some lube and a condom over to the bed without too much thought, but he wants to spent a little while longer on this before he gets all that involved, dropping his head with a lightly amused noise to go back to kissing Arthur's neck.]

[Eames makes a soft, regretful sound after a little bit more of that and sits up on his knees. He reaches for the lube and finally gets rid of his shirt, allowing himself a moment or two to enjoy the view.]

[The view from Arthur's perspective isn't too bad either. He takes a moment to enjoy it before he finally gets out of his shirt (which turns out to be a great hassle) and starts to push his pants off his hips. He has to do a bit of maneouvering to get his pants off with where Eames is sitting but he manages it, throwing everything on the floor and leaving himself naked on Eames' bed.]

[He wants to get out of his pants, but Arthur's right there all gorgeous and naked and Eames doesn't know if he can bring hinself to get up to do it. Eames bites his lip and drips a liberal amount of lube on his fingers and leans forward to slips his hand between Arthur's legs just to tease him a little.]

[Arthur watches Eames with a smirk, humming happily when Eames' hand is finally between his legs. As much as he'd love to rush him, he likes watching Eames enjoy these parts of it so he says nothing and bites his lip in anticipation.]

[He really does enjoy this, watching Arthur's face for his reactions as he massages back and forth over his entrance, taking himself in his other hand to make sure he's good and ready to go when Arthur is.]

[Arthur lets out a shaky breath as he forces himself to relax under Eames' fingers, glancing down at Eames' other hand to appreciate the view of what's going on there.]

[Eames hums, leaning forward some once he feels Arthur start to relax and carefully presses his fingers into him, taking his time with this as he has with everything else so far. This part he's no so sure he wants to draw out, but he might revise that based on Arthur's reactions.]

[Arthur lets out a soft, relieved moan when he feels Eames' fingers press into him. This feels good but it's nothing compared to what Eames is going to feel like inside of him, which is what Arthur's trying to imagine at the moment.]

[Eames breathes out some comment about how beautiful Arthur is as he starts pumping his fingers in and out of Arthur. He's definitely looking for efficiency here, other hand reaching to grab the condom and deal with that whole thing, but he does still take the odd moment here and there to curl his fingers and massage up against that sweet spot.]

[Arthur closes his eyes and lets out a few more soft moans, tilting his hips down onto Eames' fingers and dragging his hand up his chest to keep it busy while he fights the urge to touch himself. He wonders if this is included in Eames' version of bringing someone to the edge and keeping them there as long as possible, but he can't focus on that too long because it feels so damn good.]

[There's a lot of fiddling with his free hand, and eventually Eames gives up with a noise of frustration and tears the condom wrapper open with his teeth so he can finally get the fucking thing on.]

[He leans forward when that's done, putting his hand down so he can lean over Arthur and nose at his face for a kiss. His fingers press up a little harder inside Arthur a bit at the same time, searching for some more noises Eames can store away for later.]
