【the ❝CALL ME OUT❞ meme】 a roleplay meme to inspire muses.
♛ refer to the list above for active muses. ♛ post "calling" one of them out — you can do so by putting their name in the subject line! ♛ can be informal/formal/comment spam/crosscanon/explicit/whatever tickles your fancy! ♛ feel free to make up a scenario at the start, or wait to see where things go. ♛ if there's someone on my muselist who isn't listed here, feel free to call them out! you might have to wait longer for a response though.
[Mahariel's doing her rounds through the group, making sure everyone's holding up okay on the return journey. A few wounds, but nothing serious. Thank goodness.
She falls to the back as they walk; bow out under the guise of holding up the rear, but there's other things on her mind. Especially as she overhears Anders talking to the cat. That certainly doesn't do a lot to convince her everything here is fine.]
[Anders is totally inconspicuous. Totally. He totally doesn't seize up at his superior's question or try to hide the kitten further in his robes.]
Wh-What? Ser Pounce a lot? He...gave the biggest purr I've ever heard! That's right! Must have been glad not to have been left to the genlocks. [Pounce takes that moment to meow defiantly.]
never!!! in fact this reply took so long because i'm a rebel and not because i forgot at all
[She raises an eyebrow at that, it's almost upsetting how bad he is at lying. She'd be more persistent about it, but now isn't the right time to grill him about it. So help her if this is another possessed cat though...]
You don't have to tell me, but please don't lie to me.
sooo sorry for the late! wait, no i'm not because i'm a rebel. (wait, yes i am.)
[Anders feels bad about, lying, sure. This is the one person who has believed in him despite all. Even when she shouldn't have, the Commander had faith in him. Anders looks guilty before he decides he even is, groaning in desperation.]
Oh, fine. Have it your way. But you... You'll think I'm crazy.
[He almost looks ashamed, the way he looks away and cradles Ser Pounce-a-lot in his arms, assuring his cat he did no wrong. Anybody else would just think he's anxious, but a sharp eye like the Commander's would know him for guilty. He's hiding something and of course it's for his beloved cat, the one thing Anders believes he'll lay his life down for.]
apostates these days :I what won't they rebel against
[Mahariel tilts her head, looking at the way Anders is holding Se Pounce-a-lot. She's not sure she's seen anyone love anything as much as he loves that cat, and that makes her a little concerned. Both about whatever it is that's going on right now, and what the consequences of that might be.]
[Despite her worry, she smiles an easy smile at Anders. Hoping it'll put him a little at ease.]
I already think you're crazy, Anders. You don't need to worry.
[Anders laughs weakly but shakes his head. It's not himself he's worried about. Sure, the Commander might have him watched for the next foreseeable lifetime if his cat is truly harboring a demon, but losing Pounce would utterly crush him.]
Promise me you won't put him down.
[He waits for her promise before giving her a determined nod, stepping closer, and angling the cat toward her. The cat's pupils are blown as he looks from human to elf, but otherwise seems the same as usual.]
It's Pounce. He... I think he saved us all.
we can start a "chronically late" club and then show up late to the meetings
[She nods, though she's not entirely sure she can promise that. If the cat's possessed or something similar, getting a demon out of him may prove difficult.]
[She reaches out and brushes a hand over his head, peering curiously at the cat's eyes. But it's not like she can see into his soul or anything, and mostly Pounce just looks like a cat. A slightly confused cat, if anything. And if he's possessed, it certainly wouldn't make sense to save everyone, would it?]
[Lyna pulls a face. What to do, what to do.]
Are you sure it wasn't you?
[He is a healer, after all. It would make some kind of sense.]
i will be vice-chair of this club only because i will not be around often enough to be chair
[His tone is a bit sharp but this is Pounce's (and his!) reputation on the line. He won't have anybody insulting him or his cat, even if it is the Warden-Commander. He shields Pounce away from her, huddling him as if a treasure of his own though his face told a different story.]
It's a joke, of course.
[This time he sounds hurt, and his shielding away of his cat is proof enough. He tucks Pounce easily enough into his robes. Here Mahariel had been the only one he trusted, but now he felt ridiculous.]
you're not my real dad!!!
She falls to the back as they walk; bow out under the guise of holding up the rear, but there's other things on her mind. Especially as she overhears Anders talking to the cat. That certainly doesn't do a lot to convince her everything here is fine.]
What did he do back there?
young lady you will respect me!!
