[Having Nancy over isn't as common as it used to be, life is busy and whatnot, but Eames sometimes makes an effort. He's even gone so far as to make something to eat that he knows Nancy loves, and he is well stocked with wine for the two of them.]

[Arthur's off visiting a friend or something, so it's just the two of them for tonight. The two of them and a dog who is always happy for familiar company and spends a good chunk of time sat by Nancy's feet, only slightly hoping maybe she'll share some food even if it's against the rules.]

[Eames returns the wink and leans back in his seat with a sigh, looking into his glass of wine thoughtfully for a moment.]

He'll be sad to have missed you though. Sometimes it seems like there has to be a situation for a get together to happen.

[She grins at him, taking a drink. By the time he's done speaking, she's no longer smiling.]

[She knew what he meant. But that didn't mean she had to like it.]

Well, maybe next weekend we could do something? I've still got keys to my Office.

[Truthfully he's not just referring to Nancy's troubles, he just feels as though all of them get so busy that something has to happen for them to remember what it's like to be in eachother's company.]

[That doesn't mean he's going to apologise or clarify though, nodding instead at her suggestion as he reaches for the wine to top up his glass. Gesturing with it to ask if she wants the same.]

I'll have to check with Arthur, but that sounds nice.

Please. [She levitates her glass over to him with a wave of her hand.]

Great- I could make us all something, have a bottle or two of wine. Boxer is welcome, of course. [There, they could make a good pre-planned sort of situation.]

You and Arthur make a really handsome couple- I don't know if I've told you that.

[Eames laughs too, totally unapologetic.]

Oh, we did. Never would've put up with him so long if he wasn't so useful to have around.

[He shrugs a shoulder, pausing a moment to take a bite of his food.]

Great sex does wonders for bringing people together, I suppose.

[She raises an eyebrow like she has no idea at all.

Though, truthfully, she didn’t really. Great sex hadn’t been a leading factor in either of her relationships.]

[He nods and leans an elbow on the table like he fully intends to share details, but then Nancy throws out 'cute' and it completely throws him.]

[He blinks, looking totally baffled.]

[He shakes his head, still a little thrown.]

I'm just surprised "cute" is the word you opted for.

[She shrugs it off with a sip of wine] would you ever marry him?

I don’t know. I think he’s got a soft spot like that, like he’ll want to settle down some day, have a kid, white picket fence.

I can tell you for a fact that children are about the last thing he wants.

[Boxer's a great son, especially because he's a dog, and Nancy is... Well, she's a handful. Several of them. And whilst he adores both of them, it's also far more of a commitment than Eames has ever wanted.]

That's a conversation we've actually had though, so I know neither of us want that.
