[Sometimes jobs go wrong, that's just a fact of life. No amount of planning can account for random strokes of luck, little things in life that just happen. Eames may not be the most stringent when it comes to these things, but he doubts any amount of forethought could plan for a security guard getting milk in his coffee instead of soy and sticking around an extra fifteen minutes. It's kind of amazing how some random guy being lactose intolerant can undo a week's work.]

[Maybe it's his own fault, maybe he got too cocky, too sure he could handle a job like this on his own. Eames would say he's probably one of the best, but even the best out there has problems when it comes to a guard coming out of the bathroom unexpectedly and alerting every other guard in the building before Eames manages to knock him out.]

[At least he had the foresight to wear a mask.]

[The protocol for this kind of thing is always the same at least. Get out, get gone, make sure you're not being tailed before you go to ground. Eames makes it out through a window and hops the fence, in the back of his mind it reminds him of when he was young, and with the adrenaline rush it's actually a little fun.]

[When he was young he didn't have the money or the experience to be able to dump his car and switch to another once he's confident he's not being followed. Guards like that don't tend to leave the premises, but one can never be too sure. He sits at the wheel for a little bit, ostensibly to get his head together, but he's in a bit of a state. He knows he needs to get somewhere he feels safe enough to regroup, and that's how he ends up letting himself in Arthur's bedroom window and passing out on his bed as soon as the adrenaline wears off. There's a little blood, he probably looks like a mess, but it's all superficial. Mostly he's just exhausted.]

[Arthur laughs again and savours one more moment before he has to reach for his phone.]

We’ve got another twenty minutes, looks like.

[Which means he’s not moving for at least another ten.]

[Eames makes a soft noise of approval and noses right in against Arthur's neck, intent to stay here another 20 mins.]

[Arthur settles right in and rubs Eames' back idly, relaxing for a while until he decides to check his phone again with a sigh. He murmurs some reluctant warning to Eames before he extricates himself and heads to the bathroom. Time to get decent for the pizza guy.]

[Eames makes a soft noise of complaint, but if he's going to eat then he has to live with Arthur getting out of bed. Honestly Eames should clean up too, but right now he's committed to bein miserable about not being held anymore.]

[Arthur comes back into the bedroom once he's all cleaned up (admittedly a bit of a rush job - he wasn't about to take a full shower or anything but he's clean enough) and finds some sweatpants and a t-shirt (emblazoned with his precinct number and the department crest) to throw on for when the buzzer goes off. Once that's all taken care of he finds a safe spot on the bed to sit down and check his phone while he waits.]

[Eames lays there for a bit longer, and then gets up to go clean himself up too. It only takes him a minute, he's not bothering with clothes or anything, and he comes back and sits on the bed behind Arthur and presses a kiss to the back of his neck.]

[Arthur hums happily and turns his head towards Eames. This is so nice and comfortable and this man is so handsome.]

[Eames leaves another few kisses along the side of Arthur's neck and noses in with a soft sigh, moving closer so he can put his arms around Arthur and enjoy this until the food comes.]

[Arthur rests his hand on Eames’ forearm and lets out a sigh. He fights the urge to ask if Eames is going to leave or stay after they eat, wondering what it means that he hopes he’ll stay and not even just for sex. Just to stay.]

[There's none of that on Eames'mind, he's focused on soaking up Arthur's presence. He sighs softly and noses at the back of Arthur's neck again, settling and staying there for the moment.]

[Arthur hums and settles into this feeling, so much so that the buzzer going off from out in the hall almost makes him jump. He murmurs something about it being pizza time before he gently pulls away and stands up to go answer the door. Once he’s exchanged pleasantries with the delivery guy and paid for everything he puts the pizza box on the kitchen counter and grabs some plates, and if Eames thinks they’re eating in bed he’s sadly mistaken.]

[Ugh. But that means he has to put pants on. Eames waits a couole of minutes to see if Arthur's bringing the food in, but when he doesn't, Eames sighs and gets out of bed, grabbing his underwear and putting it on before he comes out to join Arthur.]

[Arthur's getting a couple beers out of the fridge when Eames comes out, smiling at what a handsome man he has here, and then he takes his plate over to the couch. Just because they can't eat in bed doesn't mean they can't cuddle.]

[Eames grabs a plate and a beer and follows Arthur to the couch. He's got that anxiety about being too needy again now they're out of bed, and he's just gonna wait and see what Arthur wants to do.]

[In the meantime though, food and beer is so good.]

[The logistics of cuddling when you're eating aren't great, but Arthur makes sure to nudge Eames with his knee and give a smile to let him know it's not over just because they left the bed. Maybe he's still riding the high of that excellent sex they just had but he just likes having Eames around right now.]

[After a couple bites of pizza he reaches for the remote and turns on the TV.]

You wanna watch anything? Or music?

[Eames smiles back and settles a little, getting comfortable on the couch next to Arthur. He doesn't really care about TV or music, and glances up when Arthur turns it on with a brief moment's thought.]

I'm not bothered, whatever you prefer.

[specifiercity]

[Arthur flips to something easy to listen to and then leans back with a sigh. It takes a few minutes but they manage to destroy most of the pizza and some more beer before Arthur’s clearing the plates and coming back to the couch. When he’s settled he reaches for Eames’ arm and smiles, looking for some cuddling.]

[Eames laughs softly when Arthur touches his arm and goes easily, moving up and getting in Arthur's space with a pleased sigh.]

[Arthur wraps an arm around Eames and smiles.]

This is kinda nice.

[Eames stiffens a little at Arthur's comment, but it's brief. He forces himself to settle and leans some more of his weight on Arthur.]

Yeah, it is.

[Arthur sighs happily and jut settles into this, ready to fall into a light food coma with this man in his arms.]

[Eames shifts closer, moving so he can comfortably nose at Arthur's jaw and neck.]

[Mm yeah he's into that. He tilts his heads slightly for more of it.]

[Eames is more than happy to oblige, resting a hand on Arthur's chest with a soft sigh against Arthur's skin.]

[Arthur is literally just going to lay here and enjoy the attention, idly brushing his fingers back and forth on Eames' back.]
