there's bullet holes where my compassion used to be
[Eames, for the most part, is pretty good at avoiding serious injuries, but things happen. People make mistakes, get caught out or outdone. Also weapons are a thing.]
[The upside is that Eames can take a lot of pain. The downside is that he is currently in a lot of pain. Battered and bloody with a few nasty wounds to show for it when he lets himself into Arthur's place. Arthur keeps a first aid kit, he knows that, and moreover he keeps some medical supplies he absolutely should not legally have. He tries to remember where Arthur keeps it, turning to go in his kitchen. Grabbing a sharp-looking knife in one hand as he starts looking through a cupboard he vaguely remembers as storage with little regard for the blood he's leaving everywhere. Calling Arthur's name at the same time to see if he's home.]

Once he sets them down on the night table he also strips down to his underwear so he can slip into bed and cuddle, if Eames wants.]

[A couple of days later, he's doing a lot better. Most of the bruising has started to fade, and the smaller cuts and scrapes haven't healed away, but they certainly don't look so bad. The nastier ones are probably still going to take a while, and Eames is still a mess, but he has energy now. Favouring one side when he moves, but it's not such an insistent problem.]
[Back home too, pretending the stairs aren't an issue. Had to ask the dog sitter to keep Boxer for a week while he recovers, but everything is fine. At least in his own space he doesn't feel like some kind of burden, some problem Arthur has to work around. This is his fuckup and his problem and he can manage it himself. Today he's going to do that by sitting in the kitchen in sweatpants with a beer and a potion for the pain.]

How're you doing today?
no subject
Not terrible. [He glances down at the bandage on his stomach and then up at Arthur with a hint of a smirk.] Bleeding less, certainly.
no subject
Well, I don't know how you could have been bleeding any more.

[Luckily for all he has no plans to try.]
no subject
There anything else you could find a way to do?
[Is he flirting this quickly after walking through the door? Yes. The answer is yes.]
no subject
Well, I haven't had anyone to try with yet.

[There isn't a hint of sympathy in his voice. He puts his beer down on the table and kneels down, nudging Eames' knee gently to make some room and encourage him to square his hips up a little better. He really isn't wasting any time here, though he is pretty casual about reaching up to undo Eames' pants.]
Guess it's a good thing I'm here.

[Eames tilts his head and licks his lips as he watches Arthur sink to his knees, shifting to the edge of his seat and moving his legs apart to make room for him. This is super casual so he's still sipping his beer though.]
