[One thing that's fun about not wearing his own face with Arthur is getting to flirt openly in public. Or more. He's awful about it, to a degree that's just as much genuine flirting as it is seeing where Arthur's limits are, sticking pretty close to him until the cab arrives and sitting next to him to kiss his neck and rest his hand far too high on Arthur's thigh to be innocent until he's stopped.]

[When they get back to Arthur's place finally, he decides there's not much point with any pretence and gets rid of his shoes and jacket before taking himself to the bedroom.]

[Eames is fine with that, making another pleased noise and letting his thumb brush back and forth over Arthur's cheek. After the day he's had, this is a welcome change of pace, and a nice way to wind down after the sex they just had.]

[After a little while, Arthur pulls away just far enough to grin down at him. It takes him a second of deliberation but he finally decides to tuck himself right up to Eames' side and lay down, draping an arm across his body and laying his head down on the pillow right next to him.]

[Eames freezes for a moment, not out of any negative feelings per se, but mostly confusion. Arthur wanting him to change back and then cuddling up to him isn't exactly insignificant, all things considered, but it's not unwelcome either. He wonders a little if this is something worth thinking about, but after that moment’s passed he decides that it is, but not now.]

[Right now he's tired and he's had a stressful day and Arthur is a familiar and comfortable presence, even if in an unfamiliar situation, and he reaches to pull the covers over the both of them.]

[Arthur's going to fall asleep pretty quickly, feeling very spent and exhausted after the day and the sex. He doesn't want to think too hard about what he's doing right now particularly because he knows he'll overthink it, and this is too comfortable to just roll away from.]

[So he's gonna doze off right where he is.]

[Eames shifts a little, curling up to Arthur and making himself more comfortable before he falls asleep. Might as well get the most of this unforseen cuddling circumstance.]

[Arthur will easily sleep soundly through the night, and he doesn't move from Eames' side. He'll wake in the same position he fell asleep in unless Eames decides to move at some ungodly hour in the morning.]

[Nah, Eames is exhausted. He might curl up a little more but other than that he is gone until either late morning or Arthur wakes him up.]

[Sleeping in is such a rare luxury these days.]

[When Arthur wakes up, which is relatively late for him, he hums in protest to wakefulness and sighs. He's aware that there's a body under his arm but it's fine and it's comfortable, but he's also aware that he has a sore ass and aching forearms. It's the forearms he inspects first, sleepily opening his eyes and raising his arm to look at the brand new bruises.]

[Eames groans in complaint when Arthur moves, stubbornly closing his eyes even tighter and frowning in his sleep. It's so much more comfortable when nobody is moving.]

[Arthur hums in some vague agreement as he lowers his arm again, deciding that it's more important to get some more sleep out of this arrangement than it is to see exactly how bad his wrists are.]

[Eames seems satisfied with this, turning a little on his side and throwing an arm over Arthur; he doesn't do this shit by halves. If he's gonna cuddle up to someone he's going all in.]

[Arthur makes an agreeable sound and grins, nosing at Eames' face sleepily.]

[Eames wakes up a little with that, smiling a little at the affection and he traces his fingers up Arthur's side as he opens his eyes.]

[He takes a deep breath, appreciating the feeling of Eames' fingers on him, and then he brings his hand up to Eames' face to brush his knuckle along his jaw.]

[He sighs softly, resting back against the pillows. Part of him is waiting for the other shoe to drop; the part where Arthur starts overthinking all this, but mostly he's still waking up and being touched is nice.]

[He might fall back asleep, it's really very nice and relaxing.]

I need coffee.

[He's kind of just telling the universe about his need of coffee in hopes that some might appear, though he assumes he'll probably have to get up and get it himself.]

[He will, but Eames makes some kind of noise to indicate he feels positively about the idea of coffee.]

[Arthur doesn't move for a little while, settling in with his arm draped casually across Eames' chest. It feels nice and he's doing a really good job not overthinking it, but eventually his enjoyment of this gives way to an ever strengthening need for coffee. He makes a regretful sound and finally drags himself up and out of bed, stopping to grab some underwear before he goes out to the kitchen.]

[Cool. Eames is going back to sleep while Arthur's out of the room.]

[It only takes a couple minutes for Arthur to collect two coffee mugs and fill them with coffee, and then he comes back upstairs to set down one on the nightstand for Eames and sits on the edge of the bed with his, inspecting his wrists and lamenting the fact that he won't be able to roll up his sleeves for a week.]

[Eames rolls onto his back, roused a little by movement on the bed and the smell of coffee, and he finally gives in and sits up so he can take the mug.]

Your wrists okay?

Aesthetically? No. Unless you're into this as a look.

[He glances over at Eames with a smirk.]

They're fine. The damage is all superficial.

[Eames snorts and takes a sip of his coffee.]

Well I prefer you without the bruising, but you do wear it well.

[specifiercity]

[Arthur lets out a soft laugh, almost bashful.]

At least I had fun getting them.

And that's what matters.

[Well--] That and the extremely handsome man in your bed.

[He matters too.]
