[The last few months with Arthur have been... Nice. Really, really, nice. In some ways he's been happy that he convinced Arthur to take that day off, because it's opened them up to spending more time together for reasons other than sex, (though the sex, as always, has been outstanding,) and Eames has enjoyed it. A lot. It's something he hadn't ever thought of as missing in his life, but he could get used to it.]

[That's a problem.]

[He's seen relationships undo enough people in his line of work that that alone makes him hesitant, but with Arthur, well. Sleeping with a cop is fun, and mutually beneficial, but there's no long-term to something like that and Eames can't let himself get attached. He respects Arthur enough too, to at least do him the decency of talking to him and explaining himself instead of just vanishing. Arthur's more than good enough to track him down and shoot him if he did anyway.]

[He's been going over it again and again, and eventually he just decides to let himself in one night, waiting for Arthur to get home in his living room so they can just get this over with.]

[He swallows. He can think of one reason they might be this attached, but he brushes that away almost as soon as it enters his mind. Best not to go there.]

I guess the universe works in funny ways sometimes.

[Does he believe that? Not really, but it's easier to say than to start exploring everything else that might be going on.]

[Eames isn't interested in figuring it out, it's just a weird fact of things to him. He lets out a soft laugh at the comment and nods.]

Yeah, guess it does.

[He settles into silence for a bit, even drifting off here and there, but eventually he starts feeling the need to get up and move since he hasn't even been out of bed yet today.]

I'm gonna go take a shower.

[Eames makes a noise of complaint, but he can't really stand between Arthur and hygiene.]

[He does, however, mumble a soft "wait" and lift his head to try and get a kiss.]

[Arthur of course obliges him for that kiss before he goes, slipping into the bathroom and turning on the water right away, looking forward to feeling clean afterwards.]

[Eames just lays there for a little while, just enjoying being here again, but after a bit he gets himself up and takes everything to the kitchen to wash up and make himself something quick to eat while Arthur's in the shower.]

[The shower goes a bit long. He has to shave, which takes a little time, and then he has to take some care to do a little more grooming on his body that he's been neglecting. It's not a lot, it never has been, but he likes everything to be tidy.]

[After that the washing up gets a bit... self-indulgent. He hasn't been with anyone else in months, so this unexpected dry spell has him surprised that they haven't already fucked, given the fact that Eames has been in his apartment for at least eight hours now. That's the explanation he comes up with when he finds himself slipping a finger into himself and working up to two for a while before he finally relents and decides to get out from under the water. By the time he's stepping out to see where Eames is he's slightly flushed and the fact that he's half hard is only slightly concealed by the towel he has wrapped around his waist.]

[Eames has some toast and a coffee that he's enjoying in the kitchen, Arthur took a little while so everything's clean except the cup and plate Eames is using and he glances over his shoulder when he hears Arthur out and about.]

[Arthur says some vague to the affirmative as he goes to his nightstand, nonchalant as he grabs the lube and a condom. He saunters back out just as nonchalantly to wrap his arms around Eames from behind, pressing the items against his chest and kissing his neck.]

I got myself started in the shower.

Oh.

[Eames grins and leans back against Arthur, rocking back a little with a soft hum before he turns around to face him.]

And when you say "started"...

[Arthur wraps his arms around Eames' shoulders, leaning in to kiss his jaw.]

I mean I thought about you fucking me, so I made sure you could do that as soon as I saw you again.

[Eames grins and puts his hands on Arthur's hips to walk him back towards one of the counters.]

You've gone and got a bit of a headstart.

I'm sure you can catch up.

[Arthur goes willingly, and when his ass hits the counter he puts his hands down to lift himself up onto it, if nothing else just so he can get his knees hitched up on Eames' hips and pull him in for hopefully a little grinding action.]

I'ms sure I can.

[He sets down the lube and the condom and untucks Arthur's towel to spread that out on the counter and give him the space he needs to move right up between Arthur's legs and rock against him.]

[Arthur leans back a little to watch, savouring the unique friction of Eames' pants on his bare skin. He bites his lip as he feels it starting to build on the generous level of arousal he was already at, arching his back to rock his hips forward and get the contact he needs to really get hard.]

[Eames groans softly and puts his hands on Arthur's hips to hold him where he wants for this; it occurs to him using his hand would be faster, but it's been so long that he wants to feel as much of Arthur as he can.]

[Sometimes Arthur just wants Eames to take him and do what he wants with him. It feels good to know he's satisfying something almost primal in him, and it also just feels fucking good. This is one of those times, and Arthur moans and puts one hand up on Eames' shoulder as he keeps watching.]

[Eames pauses just long enough to undo his pants and push everything out of the way, and that definitely improves things. It won't take much longer, and he glances up at Arthur's face with an amused noise when he realises where he's looking.]

[As well as he can while he's breathing this heavily, Arthur raises an eye brow and smirks, rocking his hips in Eames' hands to give him a little more to think about.]

[With a low groan, Eames grins back and reaches up to pull Arthur down into a kiss, reaching for the condom with his other hand to get things moving.]

[Arthur keeps rocking his hips, dragging his hand up from Eames' shoulder to the back of his head and moaning softly into the kiss. He can't believe how turned on he is right now, just from this little bit.]

[Eames tears open the packet impatiently and rolls the condom on, not bothering to move away from Arthur at all while he does that and pours out a liberal helping of lube. He's getting all this done as quickly as possible, and once that's taken care of he takes Arthur's hips again to pull him right to the edge of the counter, pulling back just enough to murmur against Arthur's lips.]

So you're good to go, right?

[A shiver goes up Arthur's spine and he hesitates. Depending on how fast Eames goes it's probably going to hurt, but he did prep himself in the shower so it's not like he's going to break. He braces his hand on the counter and nods.]

[Eames senses that hesitation, so he decides to take it slow. At least to start. He takes some time to make sure he lines himself up properly and noses at Arthur's face for a kiss as he presses into him slowly.]

[Arthur groans and squeezes his knees around Eames' hips, willing himself to relax. The pain could certainly be much worse but there's still some resistance there. That starts to melt away as Eames gets deeper, and Arthur's stuttering gasps turn into long steady moans against Eames' lips.]
