[This gathering isn't anything special, especially not by the "standards" Eames has been discovering over these last few years, but it is one of those things where the Lord of Autumn should make an appearance. A lot of fae and various other types celebrating some minor thing that Eames can't even remember. The drinks are good though, and there is the odd familiar face he actually enjoys the company of.]

[It's all just... Fine. Except for one thing, a fae who is absolutely stunning, unabashedly inhuman, somebody Eames would certainly love to take home were it a different time. But she's not interested in him by the looks of it anyway. During the latter half of the evening, he catches glimpses of her with Arthur, and he could brush off the flirting if it weren't for the way he could see it being reciprocated.]

[It becomes steadily harder to ignore, glances become hard stares with a clenched jaw for lingering moments, barely paying attention to whatever conversation he's found himself in. Entirely more interested in this display he's witnessing.]

[Flirting is just kind of fun for Arthur. It's an easy mode to slip into, and it feels good to have someone appeal to your good looks and great sense of humour, particularly when that person is as striking as some of the fae who show up to these parties. It's not going anywhere; any real propositions are quickly rebuffed and he doesn't avoid the topic of his monogamous relationship on purpose... it's just really nice to get a little ego boost now and then.]

[If he had any inkling that it was bothering Eames, he'd reel it in. He's never met someone with more self esteem than his impossibly beautiful boyfriend, so for him this is just a harmless little dance while Eames socializes elsewhere.]

[They've played this game a few times by now, certainly Eames isn't mad about it, definitely not hurt or jealous. It tugs at something much deeper in him, something that flares and grows whenever he sees another fae so close to Arthur, so cosy and intimate.]

[Were it somebody else — a wolf, a human, whatever — Eames wouldn't care in the least. As it is, however, when he finally manages to catch Arthur's eye it's with a raised eyebrow and tight expression to let him know he can see this all clearly.]

[Listen, Arthur's not psychic. When he sees Eames' expression, he truly doesn't know what it's about. In fact, he kind of assumes that Eames has just finished talking to someone particularly agitating and wants to share or get going or something of that nature. Arthur's a good boyfriend, so he politely excuses himself from the gorgeous fae (with another joke that makes her laugh) and swaggers on over to Eames to put his hand on his chest.]

Everything okay?

[Eames is quiet for a moment, wondering if maybe he's overreacting, making something out of nothing. Arthur certainly isn't acting like somebody trying to rile him up on purpose.]

[But he catches a glimpse of that fae across the room, and his expression hardens again. He puts his hand on Arthur's hip and slips it to his lower back, eyes still on her when he answers.]

I was just thinking about getting out of here.

[Arthur frowns, wondering what Eames isn't telling him, but he definitely likes Eames' hand in that spot on his back and he knows he's not going to get any details until they leave. He follows Eames' gaze quickly and wonders if Eames has a problem with the fae he was just talking to, but he knows better than to ask right now. They should just get in a cab and maybe he'll hear about it or he'll get a hickey. Both are good.]

Yeah, we can go.

[Eames is satisfied for now with both that answer, and the disappointed look on that fae's face when she looks at the two of them together. He wants to go home, remind Arthur who's whose.]

Let's go.

[It's only after evenings like this that Eames is the way he is right now. Not just tense and agitated, but very handsy with Arthur, putting his arm around him to gently usher him out and keep him close at the same time. Maybe if he weren't in the thick of it, that's something he'd think about, but right now Eames has a singular goal in mind.]

[Maybe it's the few sips of fae wine he's had, but it just feels good to indulge in how close Eames wants to be right now. He stays close as they make their way outside, and then he tucks himself even closer while they wait outside for their cab to show up. He even catches Eames' gaze at some point to smirk in that way he does to let him know he's very DTF if that's what Eames wants.]

[Eames keeps his arm firm around Arthur while they wait, not tight exactly, but he definitely is making a point of keeping Arthur next to him, though he barely registers the look Arthur gives him. Probably just focused on looking out for that cab though, right.]

[When it arrives, Eames is moving with that same impatient manner to get them both in the cab and, more importantly, get them to the privacy of their own home as fast as possible.]

[Okay, there is definitely something bothering him. Arthur waits until they're sitting in the back of the cab and have driven a couple minutes before he says anything. His tone's light, maybe a little flirty as he leans into Eames' grip.]

Something bothering you?

[Eames glances at the driver, curious how much he can hear of them, and turns his head to nose at Arthur's cheek. There's a definite edge to his voice — low, but not soft — but all things considered, he doesn't expect Arthur to know what he's talking about.]

Just thinking about something I saw tonight.

[specifiercity]

[It doesn't even matter to Arthur what Eames is talking about. All signs point to him having a very good time when they get home, and he's almost hesitant to screw that up by pursuing this further. He puts his hand on Eames' knee and responds in a murmur.]

What did you see?

[Eames hums thoughtfully and debates on whether to bring it up now or wait. He's still tense, still on edge, but he doesn't want Arthur to think he's jealous or something ridiculous like that.]

[He tilts his head with a sigh.]

We can talk about it at home.

[specifiercity]

[Arthur privately hopes there won't be too much talking at home, but he hums in understanding, gives Eames knee a squeeze, and noses affectionately at Eames' face before he turns to look out the window. He's had a nice evening and he thinks the ideal way to cap it off would be Eames growling in his ear while he holds him down and fucks him hard. That just seems to be the kind of mood Eames is in, and Arthur looks forward to obliging him once in a while.]

[It's not a long drive, and Arthur's content to stay silent until they get home, relaxed against Eames' side.]

[Eames stays quiet for the rest of the journey, watching the city go by out the window. He just spends the journey thinking about what to do when they get home. But experience says it'll just be whatever occurs to him when they get in the door.]

[Speaking of the door, they're home now. It's all fine, Eames opens the door while Arthur pays up with the driver and waits for him to close the door behind them before he immediately turns and puts a hand on Arthur's chest to push him back against the door roughly. Not giving him any time to react before he pins him against the door for a kiss.]

[Arthur's surprised and then amused in the half second between getting pushed against the door and being kissed. If there's any sting in his back from being shoved, he ignores it in favour of enjoying this kiss and untucking Eames' shirt with a happy hum.]

[Eames dips his head to kiss Arthur's neck, far from gentle but he's not trying to hurt him, just overwhelm him. He puts a hand on Arthur's hip, staying close as he can, voice practically a low rumble when he speaks.]

I saw you with that fae earlier.

[Arthur lets out a couple grunts and groans, definitely a little overwhelmed at Eames' immediate intensity. It's hard for him to really focus on what Eames says, let alone what he means by it.]

Mm.

[His other hand moves to start untucking Arthur's shirt.]

She really liked you.

[specifiercity]

[Arthur braces his hands on Eames' shoulders and arches his back into Eames' hands. He's not entirely sure what Eames is getting at here but if things go the way they're going, it's not bad.]

Apparently she's not the only one.

No, she's not.

[He hums, slipping his hand under Arthur's shirt once he's got enough of it out, pressing to Arthur's lower back to hold him against him. He's knows Arthur's talking about him, but the statement makes Eames think of other fae who've made eyes at Arthur. Flirted with him, shown some desire to take him.]

[Eames lets out a low noise of displeasure at the thought, baring down a little harder with his weight against Arthur and nips at the skin on his neck.]

You're mine though.

Yeah?

[Arthur feels his stomach twist, but he can't tell if it's a good or bad kind of feeling, and the fae wine dulls it all anyway. Maybe he should be worried, knowing how strong Eames is, knowing that if he really gets carried away he could break his bones just by squeezing too hard, but the idea of Eames just taking him is too hot to ignore. A shiver of anticipation runs up his spine and he digs his fingers into Eames' shoulders.]

What are you gonna do about it?

[Now there's a question. Eames shifts his hips, pressing forward against Arthur's as if to make a point of how hard he is right now. His main concern right now is whether to take him up to bed or not, but for now he just wants Arthur overwhelmed and needy.]

Guess I need to remind you.

[Arthur's genuinely taken aback by the fact that Eames is already so hard, but he keeps his surprise limited to a soft gasp. It's getting kind of difficult to keep his composure in the face of all of this, and he gets the sense that Eames would like him to drop it completely, but neither of them would be happy if he didn't at least try to maintain it as long as he can. He wriggles a little in Eames' grip like it's just a little too much for him, bringing his hand up to the back of Eames' head to scratch lightly at his scalp.]

[Eames makes a pleased noise and reaches down with a free hand to grip Arthur's thigh and pull it up, using it to pull Arthur closer to him and lifts his head to pull him into a kiss.]

[Arthur's easily mahandled, gripping Eames' shoulders tighter as his balance transfers to one foot. He groans a little as he's kissed, hoping that Eames won't decide to fuck him here but a little dizzy at the notion that it might actually be kind of hot.]
