[This gathering isn't anything special, especially not by the "standards" Eames has been discovering over these last few years, but it is one of those things where the Lord of Autumn should make an appearance. A lot of fae and various other types celebrating some minor thing that Eames can't even remember. The drinks are good though, and there is the odd familiar face he actually enjoys the company of.]

[It's all just... Fine. Except for one thing, a fae who is absolutely stunning, unabashedly inhuman, somebody Eames would certainly love to take home were it a different time. But she's not interested in him by the looks of it anyway. During the latter half of the evening, he catches glimpses of her with Arthur, and he could brush off the flirting if it weren't for the way he could see it being reciprocated.]

[It becomes steadily harder to ignore, glances become hard stares with a clenched jaw for lingering moments, barely paying attention to whatever conversation he's found himself in. Entirely more interested in this display he's witnessing.]

[Arthur takes a deep breath and just enjoys the morning air for a moment, thinking about Eames' issues and about how maybe it'll help if they just have a nice calm morning with some coffee and breakfast and cuddling. The idea that this might be a real problem, the kind of thing that will force him to reassess what they're doing, just isn't very appealing at the moment and he doesn't want to deal with it. He's not in the kind of mood to doubt the nature of Eames' love for him.]

[Eames comes back after about 5 minutes of trying to focus on making this coffee and not what's stressing him out, two mugs in hand. He fully assumes he'll be getting his place back under the blanket, offering a mug to Arthur and then sitting down good and close.]

[Eames is absolutely getting his place back under the blanket because Arthur's ready to just settle in and enjoy this damn coffee. He doesn't want to think about stressful things right now, he just wants to exist. Eames better not mess that up.]

[Eames is highly aware what a downer he is, so he's trying to keep it contained. It helps that he's tired and Arthur is right here where Eames can dip his head to kiss his shoulder between sips of coffee.]

[Arthur murmurs something about how good that feels, letting the caffeine hit his system. He's totally content to just sit here and sip coffee until it's time for a refill.]

[Eames feels about the same, content to sit here and enjoy Arthur's presence and this coffee for as long as he can. It's almost enough for him to convince himself everything is fine and solved and he's not just putting off the rest of that existential crisis.]

[Once Arthur gets down to the bottom of his mug, he leans back and tilts his head to nose at Eames’ cheek.]

Breakfast?

[He hums happily at the attention and nods.]

Breakfast sounds good.

[Arthur pushes himself up off the bench and waits for Eames to stand before he heads inside. The first order of business is more coffee, and then they can worry about actual sustenance.]

[Eames grabs his mug (along with the glass and bottle from earlier) and follows Arthur inside, putting it all down and going to look through the cupboards for something fast and easy to do for breakfast.]

[Arthur goes to the trouble of refilling Eames' mug and then goes to the table to wait and watch. It is an unspoken rule that if his butt hurts he doesn't make breakfast.]

[Eames respects the rule, but he's tired on both a physical and psychological level, so he's not doing much. After some deliberation he decides it's a toast and scrambled eggs morning, so he's gonna get started mixing up some eggs.]

[Arthur isn't very invested in what they eat, he just wants to sip his coffee and enjoy. He's literally just going to sit and wait for Eames to feed him.]

[Well, it's fast food. Can't be more than fifteen minutes before Eames is bringing over a couple of plates of scrambled eggs and toast, leaning over to plant a kiss on the side of Arthur's face as he puts the plates down.]

[Arthur hums at the attention.]

Of course.

[He sits opposite Arthur and gets to eating. He's pretty hungry now there's food in front of him.]

[Arthur gets about halfway through his breakfast, feeling wakefulness finally start to sink in. He looks up at Eames a few times; it's not tha they're always extremely chatty, but their talk out in the garden makes the quiet a little suspicious.]

You still thinking about it?

Of course I am.

[Arthur stretches his hand across the table, palm turned up in an invitation for Eames to hold it.]

[Eames frowns, but he reaches over to take Arthur's hand. He just feels like he's ruining their morning on top of being an asshole.]

I'm sorry.

[specifiercity]

[Arthur shrugs.]

We can talk about it after.

[Let him eat these scrambled eggs please.]

[Eames lifts Arthur's hand and kisses it, gives it a light squeeze and lets go so they can both get back to their food.]

[specifiercity]

[Arthur gives him a tired smile and takes his hand back so he can finish breakfast. Despite the fact that they went through this this morning, he doesn't really know what he's in for, doesn't know how to solve this. He wants to help but it's not even something he understands—it's too fae for him.]

[Eames finishes his food relatively quickly, and gets up to refill both of their coffees. He's not sure there's any solution here, so he's just going to try and commit to not ruining their morning with his feelings.]

[Arthur gets up to kiss Eames on the cheek, taking his coffee cup and putting his hand on Eames' chest.]
