[This is one of those moments in life where knowing something isn't the same as being at all prepared to face it. Eames has known all about the types of people Arthur works with for some time now; killers with an incredible strength and hunger just below the surface-- some much older than Arthur and stronger for it.]

[He doesn't know if that was the case this time, or what even caused the fight, but he knows that Arthur's in a bad dtate and getting hom home was a struggle. He eventually manages to get Arthur to the bed, laying him down as if he really knows what to do here.]

Arthur-- Arthur, look at me.

[Let him get some caffeine in his system, he'll get there. He's just a bit groggy because it wasn't a lot of sleep and, much as he'd like to pretend otherwise, being in his 30s makes it kinda hard to function the way he does.]

[(Were he a little more awake, he might wonder if they spend more on condoms or coffee.)]

[In the meantime, he gets himself that drink and leans against the counter with the mug in his hands and a pleased sigh because this stuff is so good.]

[Arthur follows after everything's been put away, still smiling contentedly as he pulls out a chair from the table and sits down.]

Sleep okay?

[falsify]

[Eames nods with a bit of a tired smile, and then does something he wouldn't ever usually do. And probably never will again. Which is just walk over to Arthur and sit side-on on his lap; which is to say it's absolutely not for sex and just because he's feeling so damn fond.]

[specifiercity]

[Oh. Okay. Arthur doesn't object to this at all, though he is a bit surprised. He presses a kiss to whatever the closest part of Eames' arm is and loosely wraps his around him - one hand on Eames' waist and the other on his knee.]

Hey.

Hey.

[His smile is a little less sleepy this time, and he puts a hand over Arthur's on his knee.]

You're in a good mood.

[specifiercity]

Yeah.

[God look at this man and how handsome is. Arthur feels so happy to have him in his life and have him in his lap right now.]

I guess I am.

[falsify]

It's been a while.

[Not that Arthur hasn't been happy or anything over the last few weeks, but not like this. And now he's a little more awake, Eames is starting to get an idea as to why. Which he only feels good about, honestly.]

[specifiercity]

[Arthur's smile goes a little bashful and he glances down at the floor.]

I guess I just feel really good tonight. I feel... awake.

[falsify]

[Eames gives a soft chuckle at that, bowing his head to kiss Arthur.]

It's a good look on you.

[specifiercity]

Thanks.

[Mm, kissing is good.]

I'll try to keep it going, then.

[falsify]

[He presses a couple more kisses against Arthur's lips and sighs, almost regretful.]

I missed this. [Another kiss] I missed seeing you like this.

[specifiercity]

[Arthur frowns a little, concerned knitting his brows together.]

I'm sorry I've been in such a bad mood lately.

[He sounds genuine.]

[Eames sighs and stands, but it's only so he can sit back down, straddling Arthur this time.]

I wouldn't say you've been in a bad mood.

[He finishes his coffee and puts the mug down on the table so he can put his hands on Arthur's chest, spreading his fingers with a soft sigh.]

[specifiercity]

[Arthur rests his hands on Eames' hips, just as happy with this new arrangement as he was with the original one. Still, he's not quite sure how to respond to Eames right now because he hasn't really done a lot of overthinking as to why he feels this way or even whether he's been acting differently tonight, so he shakes his head slightly in confusion.]

[He could be wrong, but Eames doesn't think he is. The energy in Arthur is almost electric and the only thing different about tonight is the blood in Arthur's system.]

Think about... When the last time you felt this good was. [He lifts his head to look at Arthur's face.] And what it has in common with tonight.

[specifiercity]

[Arthur lets out an incredulous sound, shaking his head again.]

I don't know what you're saying. I mean, I know what you're saying but...

[He runs his hands up Eames' thighs and back to his hips restlessly.]

Yeah the blood makes me feel good, but I'm also just happy to be here, with you.

[falsify]

[Eames laughs]

It makes you feel good? [He looks down at Arthur's hands on him and back to his face.] You have so much energy right now, you're practically about to vibrate out of your own skin.

[specifiercity]

[Arthur lets out a sigh through his nose, thumbs rubbing circles on Eames' hips. He can't very well deny that. Still, when he speaks it sounds more like an admission.]

It makes me feel really good. It's kind of what I run on, that shouldn't be a surprise.

[falsify]

I'm not complaining. Or surprised.

[He lifts a hand to cup the side of Arthur's face, nothing but fondness and adoration in his own expression. Like he said, he missed seeing Arthur like this.]

It's sort of adorable, if I'm completely honest.

[specifiercity]

[Arthur scoffs like he's embarrassed, but he only looks away for a moment before he's smiling back up at Eames.]

Have I mentioned how handsome I find you lately?

[falsify]

Not recently, no.

[specifiercity]

[Arthur moves his hands from Eames hips to his lower back and then to his ass, just appreciating the whole situation.]

Well, I do. You are the most handsome man I've ever met. You're the hottest too, if there's a distinction between the two.

[falsify]

[Eames feels great about all of this; the compliments, Arthur's hands on his ass. His expression doesn't change, but Arthur knows how he feels about being told how great he is in any respect. The man soaks up compliments like a sponge.]

There is. [he winks] I'm glad to hear I fit both criteria.

[specifiercity]

[Arthur's willing to give out those compliments liberally if he's in the right mood. Like right now. He grins up at him and gives his ass a squeeze.]

Every part of your body is perfect in every aspect. I love having my hands on you.

[falsify]

[That gets an approving noise out of him, something that settles low in his chest, and he brings his other hand up to the side of Arthur's neck.]

It's a good thing your hands feel so good then.
