[Terry laughs and leans forward to kiss Maxxie.]

It's fine. It's only here 'cause I couldn't be bothered shaving if I was just staying in the building all the time.

[That sounds terrible. Maxxie associates so many bad things with this building; this room is one of the spots that has more positive memories than negative.]

Didn't anyone come to see you?

Yeah, but I just didn't...

[He shrugs a shoulder.]

Never wanted to go anywhere really.

[Or, you know, he's horribly traumatised and lonely and that's manifested as a deep anxiety about leaving his home. Fucked up as that home is.]

[The corner of Maxxie's mouth twitches as he stops himself from telling Terry he needs to take care of himself. Right now he doesn't really feel like he's in much a position to chastise Terry for being in a depression funk.]

We'll get you cleaned up, alright?

[He sighs and cuddles up to Maxxie a little tighter.]

Thanks to someone I need to shower anyway. Might as well shave finally too.

[Maxxie slips his arms around Terry's body to pull him a little closer.]

It doesn't all have to go. I like a little bit of scruff.

Can you imagine me taking care of a beard?

[He'll shape it before he gets rid of it at least, maybe he'll change his mind.]

[Terry snorts and shakes his head. Flattery achieves nothing okay.]

[He brings his hand up to Terry's face, resting his palm flat on his cheek and brushing his thumb along his cheekbone.]

I know it's something people say all the time but there are so many things about you that are just beautiful.

[Is he blushing, he's definitely blushing. Terry shakes his head and turns his face into the pillow.]

Stop.

[He drops his hand back to Terry's chest. He's smiling but his hand is still genuine.]

I just want you to know. You should feel good about yourself.

[traumatizing]

[Terry shakes his head, still blushing and not looking at Maxxie. It's not like he's never heard it; he's been called pretty, or cute, or hot, or whatever a million times over, but it's never this genuine and earnest. Generally just someone on twitter who's never even met him.]

[So he handles this as eloquently as possible, by groaning weakly in protest.]

[Maxxie's gonna let up for now, but he does plan on getting Terry much better at taking compliments just by throwing them at him more often than ever before. He shuffles in a little bit and drops the pitch of his voice just a touch.]

Terry, c'mere.

[He wants to be kissed very badly by his gorgeous boyfriend.]

[Terry's still making faces of protest, but he will at least turn his head so he can lean in and nose at Maxxie's face as he goes for a soft kiss.]

[Maxxie hums pleasantly and melts against Terry's lips.]

[Terry echoes the sound, tightening his arm around Maxxie to keep him close.]

[Maxxie could do this for maybe an hour. He's just craving closeness with Terry right now and he probably won't want to let go at all for a few days.]

[That's more than fine with Terry, he has a desperate need to be close to Maxxie at the best of times, and that feeling is in overdrive right now. Tangling a leg with one of Maxxie's to get even more points of contact between them.]

[He does that for a long time, losing track of time completely after a while. It's ages before he pulls away far enough to say something and break the relative silence.]
