vampire trash? me?
[It's been on his mind a lot over the last few weeks, the idea of becoming a vampire. Partially because he's looking older than Arthur these days, and if he lets that go on too long it's going to get pretty weird, but moreover he just feels ready]
[Anxious as fuck, but ready.]
[The idea of it is terrifying — he'd gone to Mal for an explanation of the finer details rather than worry Arthur with his questions, seeing as she's actually done it before and Arthur hasn't — the idea that he could just... Die. It's not one that sits easy with Eames. He rather likes being alive, in fact half the point of becoming a vampire is to keep being alive, for a stretch on the word, forever.]
[So he's been dealing with that a lot, pretending otherwise whenever Arthur notices him being distant or pensive so he can work out his feelings on this without any outside influence. He knows Arthur wouldn't be mad if he changed his mind, it's a huge change to undertake, but it's not that he might not want this so much as wondering if the risks are really worth it.]
[They are.]
[But now they need to talk about it, so Eames is psyching himself up to do exactly that. Offered to stay in and make dinner while Arthur's off doing his errands to give himself some time alone to think about it. Maybe making some significant progress on a bottle of wine to calm his nerves, maybe it'll slow him down enough Arthur won't realise how keyed up he is the second he gets home.]

Why don't we get some of that expensive whiskey, hm? I think we're very much in the celebration phase of this whole thing.

[Arthur almost gets up from the table but thinks better of it and stops just in time to make it look like he's shifting in his seat. He catches the bartenders eye instead and beckons her over so he can ask for a couple glasses of the expensive whiskey. She seems quite amused by the both of them, which isn't great for Arthur, but he knows she won't gossip about him and hopefully they'll continue their mutually respectful relationship.]

[When she goes back to the bar, Eames leans toward Arthur and lowers his voice a little, putting a hand on his thigh in a gesture of affection.]
Thank you.
[He hasn't forgotten about the humans in the back, but focusing on Arthur makes it... Easier. That desire to rush across and drain them both dry is less persistent than it was when they walked in.]

Cheers.

[He grins and clinks his glass against Arthur's and shifts to sit a little closer to him with a soft sigh.]

This is good.
[He holds up the glass to look at it.]
How much did you say the bottle was? One-fifty?
no subject
[He takes another sip and enjoys it with a hum.]

[Eames follows suit, taking a sip and sighing thoughtfully, and then nudges Arthur with a playful smirk.]
Or you could treat your boytoy.

Why don't we finish these and then buy it on our way out.

[He's in no rush-- well, he's in a little of a rush to be somewhere with less living people around, but not enough to make him push through his drink at any speed. Eames just sighs softly and looks down at his hand on Arthur's leg and rubs his thumb back and forth affectionately.]

[He leans over to give Arthur a quick peck on the cheek and stands, waiting for Arthur so they can get that bottle and get out of here.]

[They make a little more small talk with the bartender; she can tell Eames is new to this and she's particularly amused by this new side of the regularly straight-laced Arthur she's seeing, but she doesn't keep them too long once they've settled up and have their bottle of whiskey in hand. As they walk out, Arthur drops his free hand to hold Eames', going back the way they came to avoid too many more close brushes with any humans.]

[Soon enough though Arthur's finished buying the bottle and Eames shakes it off with medium success, casting a last glance in their direction before he leaves with Arthur. Eames sticks close the whole way back, beyond ready to just be at home.]

You did well tonight.

I can't believe you called yourself my boytoy.
[He sounds a little amused and a little like he enjoyed the implication.]
no subject
Am I wrong?
no subject
[He grins and kisses Eames' neck, pressing his palm flat on Eames' stomach and dragging it back and forth.]
Of course, right now I kind of just want to take you to bed and show you a good time.

[Gross as it is, Eames tips the bag to get the last drops he can, (without tearing the thing open and licking it anyway, which Eames does consider, but he stops himself,) and turns to face Arthur with a grin.]
By all means, do.
