[Arthur can't help but grin at that. He missed this so much. Somewhere in the back of his mind he's worried maybe Eames is trying to sweep what happened under the rug but he is determined to let Eames take the lead on talking about it. So for now, flirting and kissing.]

[He leans in again to brush Eames' nose gently.]

You have any more bad jokes or should I get on ordering us dinner?

[Eames grins back and tilts his head to press a quick kiss to Arthur's lips. He just wants to have this right now, just. Things feeling a little like how they should, instead of tense and uncertain.]

None I can think of, but I can't promise anything.

Maybe you'll come up with a few more after your stomach stops growling.

[He takes one hand off of Eames to dig out his phone and scrolls through it to figure out which takeaway places he has saved in his phone.]

You have anything in mind?

[He shakes his head.] As long as I can eat it in bed, I don't care.

Chinese then.

[He finds the number and dials, staying close to Eames. He even plays with the seam of Eames' shirt at his shoulder, smiling softly as he talks to the restaurant. He gives them their order and then hangs up with a content sigh.]

Half an hour.

[Eames makes a generally pleased noise, staying put for the moment while Arthur makes the order.]

Good. [Regretfully he has to pull away to retrieve his beer from the counter. But he offers a smirk to Arthur as he turns to leave the kitchen.] In the meantime, I'll be needing you to take your shirt off and come lay down with me.

[Arthur is maybe a little bashful as he follows Eames out. He doesn't take his shirt off just yet, waiting to see where Eames is going.]

Are you also going to take your shirt off?

[That would be ideal.]

[Well he doesn't say anything, but once he puts his beer down on the nightstand his shirt comes off before he lays down.]

[Arthur grins and takes his shirt off as well, slipping into bed next to Eames and turning on his side to face him. He doesn't cuddle up right away, still letting Eames take the lead on just how close he's willing to get. Arthur has a hard limit of nothing that raises Eames' heartrate, but there's a lot of room for casual intimacy in between here and there.]

[Eames has some anxiety about... Well, everything. Anxiety and issues they still haven't actually talked about, and Arthur can probably tell something's up because Eames' pulse is definitely going a bit faster than normal, but. It feels stupid, but he needs this. He shifts closer to Arthur, and curls up around him, tucking his head under Arthur's.]

[He's never really been someone who demands affection or comfort like this — he settled easily enough into just pulling Arthur over for a little casual cuddling, but this isn't that. It's needier, more vulnerable. But he didn't get it when he actually really needed it, so as far as he's concerned Arthur has time to make up for.]

[Arthur can tell this isn't just standard cuddling. He feels bad, that he wasn't here to make this happen right after Eames got out of the hospital, but the feeling of him struggling in his arms is still so fresh in his mind that he's still worried this is going to go wrong somehow.]

[He tries to avoid outright wrapping himself around Eames right away, settling for combing one hand through his hair and laying the other on Eames' waist.]

I missed you so much.

It's only been a week.

[He noses at Arthur's neck a little when he says it, voice light and teasing in contrast to the way he's holding Arthur tightly like he's trying to make sure he can't leave. He's already told Arthur how badly he missed him, no need to repeat himself.]

[Arthur lightly drags his fingers across Eames' back as he thinks on it.]

Mm, and I've been alive for a few hundred years, but a week feels like an eternity when you're away from someone you love this much.

[Yep he's getting sappy. Deal with it Eames.]

[Jesus. Eames laughs and shakes his head at this gross old man sap he's getting.]

But I'm laying it on thick when I call you magnificent.

[Arthur hums happily and presses his lips to the top of Eames' head.]

I like when you call me magnificent.

Well you are. [Eames hums softly and curls up a little more against Arthur, practically getting their limbs all tangled up with eachother.] Magnificent, exquisite, breathtaking...

[Arthur laughs bashfully.]

Stop it.

[No don't keep being cute in his direction.]

Handsome, gorgeous, captivating.

[He tilts his head up a little, punctuating each word with a kiss along the underside of Arthur's jaw. And then he pauses for a brief moment, like he needs a beat to think of anything else to say.]

You're pretty easy on the eyes too.

[He grins and pulls his head back to look down at Eames affectionately. he can't think of anything to say but he does run his fingers through Eames' hair one more time before he ducks his head for a proper kiss. It's still soft and most definitely not going anywhere but it just feels right.]

[Eames gives another pleased hum at that and leans up into the kiss, lifting a hand to cup Arthur's face. His other arm tightens a little around Arthur, but it's almost certainly just to do with a desire to be closer and definitely not at all with the knowledge that Arthur could just up and leave at any time, and Eames may not even be able to find him next time. ]

[Well they stay cute and cuddly until the food comes, at which point they go back to bed and continue being cute and cuddly while they eat. Arthur feels so happy to be back and so happy to be normal for a moment. It's not until after they eat and they're basking in the afterglow of a good meal that he finally suggests doing something other than being cute and cuddly.]

Both of us should probably sleep at some point.

Yeah.

[Eames sighs and rolls onto his back, looking around the room and pointedly ignoring the boxes full of his stuff. He doesn't want to think about that right now. That or anything else. He's just gonna lay here and catch up on some much needed sleep and tomorrow can be the day for dealing with all this shit.]

I think I need it.

[Arthur gazes down at Eames and sighs. He's not sure if Eames is sick of him just yet, even though there's no indication that he is, so after a moment he just asks the question.]

Do you want me to sleep here?

Well I'm not moving.

[Arthur laughs affectionately.]

That's not what I'm asking.
