[It's been on his mind a lot over the last few weeks, the idea of becoming a vampire. Partially because he's looking older than Arthur these days, and if he lets that go on too long it's going to get pretty weird, but moreover he just feels ready]

[Anxious as fuck, but ready.]

[The idea of it is terrifying — he'd gone to Mal for an explanation of the finer details rather than worry Arthur with his questions, seeing as she's actually done it before and Arthur hasn't — the idea that he could just... Die. It's not one that sits easy with Eames. He rather likes being alive, in fact half the point of becoming a vampire is to keep being alive, for a stretch on the word, forever.]

[So he's been dealing with that a lot, pretending otherwise whenever Arthur notices him being distant or pensive so he can work out his feelings on this without any outside influence. He knows Arthur wouldn't be mad if he changed his mind, it's a huge change to undertake, but it's not that he might not want this so much as wondering if the risks are really worth it.]

[They are.]

[But now they need to talk about it, so Eames is psyching himself up to do exactly that. Offered to stay in and make dinner while Arthur's off doing his errands to give himself some time alone to think about it. Maybe making some significant progress on a bottle of wine to calm his nerves, maybe it'll slow him down enough Arthur won't realise how keyed up he is the second he gets home.]

[Eames frowns against Arthur's lips, concerned by the lack of response on Arthur's part. Maybe he's just being impatient, but there is food in the oven.]

[He rocks his hips a little impatiently, ducking his head to kiss along Arthur's jaw.]

[Arthur arches his back, starting to feel a bit of response. He's starting to successfully push the fact that Eames wants him to kill him in a week or so out of his mind which means he might be able to get it up.]

[Oh, okay. Good. Eames relaxes noticeably, but otherwise stays the course, kissing down Arthur's neck and moving his hand with a purpose.]

[Arthur finally feels sparks rush down his spine and he moans softly, turning his head and pressing the side of his face into the pillow. His hand finds Eames' back and his fingers dig into his skin desperately.]

[Eames moans softly in response, rocking his hips down absently while he works on Arthur. After the time it's taken to get a response, he'd rather not have to fuss with getting himself off too, but damn is it always a turn on whenever Arthur responds like this.]

[Arthur moans Eames' name, his hand traveling up his back to grab a handful of his hair as he rocks his hips into Eames' hand. God he loves this man so damn much and he really needs to think about only that right now.]

[Eames hums, focusing his attention at a spot near the base of Arthur's neck. He's trying to get Arthur done quickly, so he's totally gonna cheat a bit to get there.]

[Arthur's over the hump now, already feeling his stomach tighten in anticipation. He tells Eames to keep going and it almost comes out like begging but he can't spare any time to be ashamed about it.]

[It's music to Eames' ears and he curses softly against Arthur's neck, keeping it up to see him through with some gentle encouragements.]

[When Arthur comes, he moans loudly and rocks his hips up into Eames' hand as his legs tremble. His fingers dig perhaps a little harder than they need to into Eames' upper back but this quick and dirty handjob really did it for him.]

[Eames noses up the side of Arthur's neck and along his jaw affectionately, planting a quick kiss on Arthur's lips before he sits up so he doesn't get tempted to lay down and end up all messy and cosy.]

Told you I could do it in under ten minutes.

[He lifts his hand and licks along the side of it, looking pretty pleased with himself.]

[Arthur lets his arms fall to the bed and he looks up at Eames in exhaustion.]

I never doubted you.

Good.

[He reaches for his discarded shirt and wipes the rest of his hand off with it, and then tosses it at Arthur's face.]

You better get cleaned up while I dish up.

[And there he goes, slipping off Arthur to go back to the kitchen.]

[Arthur just picks up the shirt (gross) and takes a deep breath, staring at the ceiling. He's just going to lay here for a short while considering his life.]

[Eames stops in the bathroom first to wash his hands and splash some cold water on his face, then to the kitchen to take the food out of the oven and top up his wine.]

[By the time Arthur joins him, there should be some delicious lasagne and a light salad, and a fresh bottle of wine ready for them.]

[Arthur eventually finds his way out, stopping in the bathroom as well to wipe himself down and also splash some cold water on his face. He looks a little worn out by the time he makes it to his chair but he's ready to drink some wine and eat some good food and be gross and cute with his boyfriend.]

[Eames waits for Arthur to sit down before he starts eating, occasionally looking at him all thoughtful about how handsome and excellent Arthur is, but otherwise content to eat in comfortable quiet.]

[Arthur's still overwhelmed by the stuff he has to do to prepare for this whole thing, though physically he feels a bit more calm than before thanks to the excellent handjob he just received.]

[Eames beames (and tops up his wine) all pleased with himself.]

[Arthur reaches over to take one of Eames' hands, giving him an apologetic look.]

[Eames shakes his head, brushing his thumb along Arthur's knuckles.]

I did just spring something big on you.

[Arthur takes a deep breath and exhales almost miserably.]

I have to talk to Mal.

I'm, uh...

[He looks down at their hands with a frown.]

I'm sure she's prepared.

[specifiercity]

[Arthur frowns up at him.]

What do you mean?

Well I couldn't come to you with my questions, so I spoke with her about it instead.
